New Year and a New Start

We want to wish all our clients and suppliers a happy and prosperous new year.

Towards the end of 2012 we went through a significant re-structure in the business and are very excited to be heading into 2013 with the healthiest order book we have ever had.

The re-structure has meant that we are now positioned to offer all our clients a much improved level of service which is already reaping benefits.

For more information on how our improved structure can benefit your project, please contact the team.

Skyline and Flint High School make a Twinning Team!

Believe it or not, 40% of the world’s population are without a clean and safe place to go to the loo and every day 5000 children under the age of five die needlessly from diarrhoeal diseases caused by dirty water.

When Skyline was commissioned to refurbish six toilet blocks for Flint High School, they made us aware of their fundraising intentions and toilet twinning was high on the list. There is an £8 return for every £1 spent on a water and sanitation programme through saved time, increased productivity and reduced health costs; we could not ignore returns like this for such a worthwhile cause.

Skyline made a donation for every loo refurbished, helping towards bringing safe, clean and hygienic sanitation to another family or community. Not only do the funds help a cause, they have also instilled a sense of pride with the pupils whom can now benefit from and appreciate the refurbished facilities they have available at the school.

We were delighted to help such a worthwhile cause and the Head Boy and Girl at Flint High School are planning further fund-raising events which we will fully support.

Toilet Twinning is a UK based charity which launched in 2009 and has since built more than 1,600 latrines in Burundi, providing safe loos for nearly 10,000 people.

The Apprentice

We are delighted to welcome to the team Michael Ashton who will serve his electrical apprenticeship with Skyline. To augment our support of local young people, Michael lives in North Liverpool and will attend Knowsley Community College which was recently listed in the top 5 Framework for Excellence National Survey.

The Directors and supporting team at Skyline know how vital it is for continued business success, to nurture and develop the skills that our business really needs and feel apprenticeships offer tailor made, high quality training programmes that embrace these needs. Skyline is committed to skilling our workforce for the future which will prepare us for the upturn in the economy ensuring we are ready to reap the benefits.

Continued growth.

Three new recruits have recently joined the ever expanding team at Skyline.

Working in the contracts department, Vince Chadwick, Anthony Lynch and Stephen Pooler bring with them a wealth of experience in the construction industry and will be instrumental in enhancing the delivery of our projects and customer care. Vince has 38 years experience managing high value contracts for a range of prestigious clients across many sectors. Anthony is a qualified building surveyor, spending the last 6 years at Cunliffes managing projects in the education and commercial sectors, and Stephen managed projects of up to £22million for Pochin’s construction.
